The Peter G. Dodge Foundation (PGDF) is pleased to announce a transformative campaign that will strategically shift the foundation from a private philanthropic endeavor to a national, publicly supported charity, dramatically expanding its grantmaking capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith 88,000 people dying from alcohol-related causes every year, we need to maximize our impact now,\u201d states Executive Director Elizabeth Cairns. \u201cThis expansion will allow us to take advantage of the many opportunities we have to make a real difference for families who are struggling with alcohol use disorder (AUD).\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in 2014 as a passion project of entrepreneur Peter G. Dodge, PGDF has established a reputation as a capable, forward-thinking organization that works with world-class partners to achieve lasting change. The mission of the organization is to help people lead lives free from the effects of alcohol addiction by increasing options, elevating awareness, and facilitating access to recovery.<\/p>\n

Alcohol use disorder affects over 17 million people and is the the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), alcohol addiction accounts for 70% of all substance use disorders in the United States.<\/p>\n

Through four successful grant cycles, PGDF has demonstrated its ability to identify and act upon initiatives that open new areas of scientific inquiry and foster a new paradigm for what treatment and recovery can be. To date, PDGF has invested over $2 million towards its mission and:<\/p>\n
