An offshoot of Women For Sobriety, MFS recognizes the complex role of men in today’s society. The “New Life” Program is used to help people make changes for themselves through positive reinforcement, positive thinking, relaxation techniques, diet, exercise, meditation and group involvement. The “New Life” acceptance program for men is the same as for the WFS and consists of such statements as: “Negative thoughts destroy only myself”; “Happiness is a habit I will develop”; “All love given returns.” MFS is a new addition to the WFS program and groups are beginning to form in the United States and Canada.

Men who wish to abstain from alcohol and who seek an all male, supportive group environment in which self-image and emotions play an important role.
